More than 130 people still missing in Laos
VTV.vn - Yesterday afternoon, an international press conference was held in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, to announce the damage caused by the breakdown of the Xe pien Xe nam noy hydropower dam in Attapu province.

Accpording to Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, more than 131 people are missing.

This is Laos's first official press conference within three days of the dam's breakdown. Sharing with domestic and international journalists after two days of directing the rescue and visiting people in the incident area, Lao Prime Minister added that in addition to 131 people missing, nearly 600 households and more than 3,000 people lost their houses.

Currently, there haven't been any foreigners recorded missing. Also at the press conference, Lao Prime Minister provided information to the press on the rescue efforts over the past few days and directions to solve and overcome the problem. Vietnamese Government Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc decided to offer 200,000 US dollars from the Central budget reserves to the Laos' government.
