In order to prevent floods from damaging rice crops, cities and provinces in the Mekong Delta have advised farmers to grow autumn - winter rice crops in areas protected by dykes and avoid large scale farming. Localities are promptly evacuating households from areas that are prone to landslides and establishing emergency response teams to prepare for unexpected landslides.
