The event is to propose a national cancer prevention plan, and to call for all relevant departments, organisations and international partners to join hand in the fight against cancer. At the conference, experts stressed that cancer is a national problem, accounting for 66% of ALL treated diseases. This in turn detrimentally impacts the country’s socioeconomic development when it comes to treatment costs.
Statistics show that there are 150 thousand new cancer patients each year in Vietnam, posing a challenge for not only the medical sector, but also other sectors. Experts at the conference also discussed possible solutions to prevent, early diagnosis, and effective cancer treatment in the near future.
