According to the Japanese Consulate in Vietnam, there are more than 1,000 Japanese restaurants in Vietnam, with more than 700 located in Ho Chi Minh City. The number of Japanese food hubs has doubled in the last 3 years, not only in big cities but also in other provinces including Lam Dong, Dong Nai and Khanh Hoa, with half of Japanese restaurants owned and managed by Japanese. This growth has also pushed Vietnam to 5th place in the top importing markets for Japanese agro-produce and food.
