The fair featuring an estimated 2,000 titles of books of all genres for children and teenagers of all ages opened this morning (July 19) at the Nguyen Hue Bookstore, according to local news media.
Brian Murray, ceo of HarperCollins Publishers, said: “We’re excited to celebrate this milestone anniversary and give thanks to the employees, authors, librarians, booksellers, and consumers who’ve been instrumental in helping HarperCollins become a part of the global literary culture over the last 200 years.
‘Our goal today is unchanged from what our founders set out to achieve two centuries ago—to help authors and their works reach their fullest potential and widest readership. We hope to continue to entertain, educate, and inspire generations of readers for centuries to come.”
At the event, hundreds of books are on sale at a 10% discount or larger from the suggested retail price normally charged, said representatives of HarperCollins Publishers, the 13th largest book publisher in the world today.
