Hung Yen urgently fixes incidents to restore power supply

VTV.vn - The northern province of Hung Yen is making efforts to restore the electricity system to serve its local people as super typhoon Yagi, which hit the northern region on September 7, has caused widespread power outages across the locality.

According to statistics from the Hung Yen Power Company, the typhoon damaged 116 electricity poles and over 14,000 metres of various types of power lines, and led to the collapse of two substations and two switching stations. As a result, 326,000 local customers were affected by power outages.

The company’s deputy director Ngo The Tuyen reported that right on September 7 afternoon, the firm convened a meeting to put forward measures to address the typhoon’s aftermaths. Consequently, its units deployed forces to inspect and assess the damaged power lines, and take measures to fix the problems.

With the high determination of the company’s staff and contractors, nearly 300,000 customers had their power supply restored as of September 8 afternoon.

In the afternoon of the same day, the provincial People's Committee also sent an urgent official dispatch to all departments, agencies, and localities, requesting the Hung Yen Power Company to mobilise all available personnel, equipment, and necessary materials to urgently address the power system's incidents.
