The fire has burnt down at least 150 buildings and forced 27,000 residents to evacuate and the burned area covered 200 square kilometers , according to local authorities. One of the worst-hit areas, the Ventura County, about 113 kilometers north of Los Angeles, has declared a state of emergency. Local firefighters are working to put out the fire and their peers from adjacent cities including Los Angeles and Santa Barbara also joined in. Since the beginning of the year, California has witnessed a number of wildfires, causing more than 40 deaths.
