Wednesday evening’s flood was a repeat of Tuesday’s, when water levels at around 6:30 pm peaked at 1.68 meters, submerging streets in District 4, District 7, Binh Tan District, and Nha Be District. High water levels have also impacted the lives and production of thousands of households in the southern province of Ben Tre. The flood levels there were considered the highest recorded in years and has caused inundation in the area. Locals remain fearful for more than 1,000 hectares of fruits and 7 million flower plants are expected to serve the Tet season in 2018.
