In the closing ceremony, Hue Citadel became an international stage with the participation of many countries in the world. The closing ceremony brought about a contemporary breath and was greatly inspiring. It showed a modern face of Hue in addition to the appreciation and preservation of traditional values. Tourism development around cultural fundament is a long term strategy that Huế has been pursuing and concretize in the 9 festivals it's held so far. This raises promising and innovative ideas in hosting the next festival as well as in promoting local tourism. Hue Festival this year attracted a record high number of tourists with about 250,000.
