Super-intensive shrimp farming with high-technology and high density is a major development for the coastal province of Bac Lieu, where whiteleg shrimp are grown. Productivity can reach up to 100 tonnes per hectare. New technologies that process water and ensure health safety have improved quality.
"Our company has successfully used products with antibiotics. This has helped the shrimp growers be more efficient", said Dinh Van Diep - CEO of TopCin JSC.
"Probiotics moderate the harmful bacterium vibrio, and escalate biomass production quickly", said Andrew Bryan - Director of Rung Bien Ltd. Co., Ho Chi Minh City.
Shrimp distributors and exporters also contribute to Vietnam’s shrimp industry, and the equipment used to process shrimp is being updated.
"Bringing equipment and technology to shrimp farming is a solution that boosts Bac Lieu Province's quality in a sustainable and effective way", said Duong Thanh Trung - Chairman, Bac Lieu Province People’s Committee.
High technology applications limit the use of antibiotics, thus reducing environmental effects. Clean shrimp will promote the value of Vietnam’s shrimp to the world market.
