For the last few days, Giang and his friends have been discussing the terms of Article 292 listed in the 2015 Criminal Code. As a game developer, Giang is considering the difficulties he may face when the regulation is implemented.
Tran Truong Giang, Game Developer, TG Media said: Article 292 may create difficulties for us, since the licensing paper work for my small studio takes a lot of time and resources. Meanwhile, we have to publish our games as soon as possible to be able to compete.
The government has welcomed opinions for the Criminal Code passed in 2015 in July last year. But it wasn't until six months later did the startup community express their concerns about some of the terms of the regulation.
Pham Quoc Dat, CEO, Co-founder Hatch said: We need to establish a representative body that speaks for the startup community and attends dialogues with government agencies to show the specific requirements of start-ups for their development.
"We have the right to air our opinions. And the government is responsible for listening to our consultations and making changes to the law if necessary", said Lawyer Pham Thanh Binh, Hanoi Bar Association
As the effective date of the new Criminal Code is draws near, attention to the regulation is evident. Start-ups should consult with law experts and official documents of the government to better develop their businesses.
