The irradiation process of 2 tonnes of lychee took 2 hours. After that, the lychee are now qualified to be exported to Australia.
This have spared the firm around 800 USD per ton in having to transport lychee from across the country to the only approved irradiation center in Ho Chi Minh City, as was the case in the past.
