The recent floods and landslides in the Northwestern mountainous provinces and the intense heatwave lasting eight days in the Northern and North Central regions are two of many severe natural disasters that Vietnam has suffered in the first six months of 2018.There are many lessons learned as well as new tasks presented in the conference to recapitulate the disaster response activities in the last six months, held by the Central Steering Committee on Disaster Prevention in Hanoi on Monday.
The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention have also asked local authorities at all levels to mobilize police and military forces to participate in disaster response activities.
