The technical group of the council suggested a 6% rise, while, the representative of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour proposed an 8% rise. However, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry proposed a 0% rise. Due to the great differences between proposals, there will be another meeting session to discuss the salary rise later this month or at the beginning of August. Earlier, the regional minimum wage of 2018 rose by 6.5% compared to last year. This rise is expected to meet 90% of the minimum living cost of labourers in Vietnam.
