With typical characteristics including big flowers, equal blooms, thick and colourful petals, these foreign-originated flowers grown via hi-tech methods have been attracting more consumers on special occasions.

During this flower season, the Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute has created several new flower varieties from foreign species. Cross-breeding methods help create new varieties including roses and tulips originally sourced from Europe that now also suit the Vietnamese climate.
"We have created many new flowers varieties which suit Vietnam’s natural conditions. Thanks to the success in creating new varieties, Vietnamese consumers have been able to purchase these flowers at reasonable prices in recent years.
