In the first few days of the week, provinces in the northern region will experience an extreme heat wave. But the intensity will lessen by mid-week when rain squalls are expected, bringing downpours and high winds in mountainous areas, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
The central region will suffer most, with highs between 36 and 39 degrees Celsius anticipated, bringing no rain with it over the period. The region can also expect to be exposed to the strongest ultra-violet intensity until 4pm every day this week.
