HCMC reports more cases of pregnant women with measles

VTV.vn - Hospitals in HCM City are admitting dozens of patients with measles each week and many of them are pregnant women.

The number of patients continues to increase after the Lunar New Year holiday. The HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases is currently treating 29 cases, some of which have developed serious complications such as pneumonia.

According to doctors, the outbreak of measles is caused by a virus and can occur every three to five years in cold and humid weather. Vaccinations have been recommended as the only measure to prevent measles.
