VTV.vn - A South Korean female aged 25 was diagnosed with the Zika Virus on May 7th. What concerns Vietnamese authorities is that this happened just after she had returned from Vietnam.

In response, the HCMC Health Centre for Preventive Medicine has stepped in to investigate. The HCMC Health Centre for Preventive Medicine conducted an examination on May 11th of the working and living environments of a South Korean Zika victim. The experts detected no threats and approved of the cleanliness there.

Dr. Nguyen Le Dang, Director, Dist.7 Centre for Preventive Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City said: We have come here to assess and identify any possible health threats. We have also sanitized the area and conducted a seminar to give more information on the disease.

HCMC is currently operating 30 watch posts to monitor the health conditions of local citizens and detect any signs of the Zika virus. These watch posts have not recorded any positive cases as yet.
