This is the first official foreign trade report. The report is systematically structured and provides a comprehensive picture.

The export groups of Vietnam shows positive movements, with the highest proportion dedicated to processing industry followed by agricultural products, aquaculture products and oil and gas and minerals. This structure is in line with the roadmap for the implementation of the trade strategy for 2011-2020, with a vision to 2030.
“If every year we have a report like this, after many years we will build up a series of events, data for businesses and researchers to look at. Through this, we can see the overall import export picture of each year, of 5 to10 years period. When we look at the overall picture, we will know where the risk lies, where the benefits lie” - said Tran Quoc Khanh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
The report is considered as a useful publication and should help policy making and business planning alike. It also helps businesses develop stably, reducing risks, taking advantage of free trade agreement opportunities to boost exports.
