The 2,000-metre long bridge, spanning over the Tien River and linking Cao Lanh City and Lap Vo District, is a wide cable-stayed bridge which sits above the Tien River. With an investment of over 132 million USD sourced from non-refundable Australian aid, in addition to Asia Development Bank and Vietnamese funding, the bridge is designed to have four lanes for motor vehicles and two for bicycles. The bridge will make significant contributions to improving traffic infrastructure, and boosting social and economic development in the Mekong Delta region. Upon completion, the bridge will benefit five million residents in the region and meet the travel demand of 170,000 people per day.
