It was announced at the conference that global organic agriculture in 2015 reached 82 billion US dollars, and that demand for these products increased by 15% each succeeding year.
There are currently about 80,000 hectares of organic farming area in Vietnam, but only as many as 50 enterprises have been granted international organic farming certificates.
Participants at the conference said that the set of organic farming standards in Vietnam must be in line with international standards.
Many also said that Vietnam needs to enhance human resource training in the organic farming sector, as product regulations are becoming stricter around the world.
