The publication is a collective expression of the views of the EuroCham member companies, which operate in a wide range of fields such as business environment, management and legal issues in Vietnam.
With the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement ("EVFTA") coming, there is great interest from the European business community regarding the improvements of the current business climate in Vietnam. The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) revealed positive results from a survey on Vietnam's business environment in the fourth quarter of 2016. Nearly 76 percent of European businesses were optimistic about their operations in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, the Whitebook 2017 also collects a number of concerns and recommendations from the European business community in Vietnam on key issues relevant to foreign direct investment. Those include corporate governance, green growth, intellectual property, tax, and logistics. Businesses are concerned with the lack of transparency, accountability and implementation of legal framework in Vietnam, and the supply of qualified labor is still limited.
