This is the first time the Prime Minister has established a steering committee to develop a law project, to be headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, which not only shows the interest of the Government and the Prime Minister in the development of science and technology but also marks a new approach to improve the quality of law making.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang emphasised the view that the new law must resolve all obstacles to promote science-technology development and innovation in the spirit of the Party's resolutions and the direction of the Government and Prime Minister.
From that approach, all unreasonable provisions for promoting scientific, technological, and innovation development in current laws can be mentioned, amended, and supplemented in the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended), Deputy PM Quang shared, noting that members of the Steering Committee are requested to seriously study the draft law; and research and apply international experience to complete the draft law on quality assurance, striving to submit it to the National Assembly for first comments at the 9th session and for consideration and approval at the 10th session in 2025.
