The latest recoveries were 11 patients undergoing treatment at Da Nang Lung Hospital and Hoa Vang Medical Centre in the central coastal city – the epicentre of the new COVID-19 wave in Vietnam.
They include Patients no. 755, 846, 434, 956, 870 and 914 from Da Nang Lung Hospital. Five others – Patients no. 763, 689, 889, 1014 and BN 941 – were in Hoa Vang Medical Centre, with no. 763 a dialysis patient suffering from multiple co-morbidities continuing to be treated for underlying diseases at the facility, while Patient no. 889 is a medical worker.
All of them had showed multiple negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 and were without any signs of fever, cough, or shortness of breath. They will practice self-isolation and remain under medical monitor for the next 14 days at their residence.
As of 2 pm on Sunday afternoon, 816 patients have been given the all-clear among 1,049 confirmed cases. Da Nang has recorded its seventh consecutive day without any new cases of COVID-19 reported.
The now under-control epidemic has facilitated localities to gradually loosen their social restrictions. The People's Committee of Quang Nam Province has decided to ease some restrictive measures on COVID-19 prevention and control in the locality from 6 am today.

Quang Nam is allowing the resumption of passenger transportation activities, as well as reopening of tourist sites, entertainment facilities and other non-essential services in the "new normal" state, aimed at ensuring the realisation of the dual goals of both fighting against the epidemic while promoting socio-economic development towards co-existence with COVID-19.
Khanh Hoa Province acted in the same way as the Provincial People's Committee decided to resume non-essential services from 0:00 on September 5, as well as allowing crowded gatherings whilst ensuring COVID-19 prevention requirements. Since August 7, after the confirmation of Patient no. 791, Khanh Hoa has had 28 days without any new cases of COVID-19.
On September 5, Quang Ngai Province authorities awarded certificates of completion of concentrated medical isolation for 342 local people. They are Quang Ngai citizens, most of whom are workers and students stranded in Da Nang who have expressed their wish to return to their localities. Quang Ngai sent coaches to pick up them from Da Nang and bring to the province's concentrated isolation camps on August 22.

Soc Trang Province on the same day also awarded certificates of medical isolation completion to 117 Vietnamese citizens returning from Singapore on August 21. During their 14-day quarantine in Soc Trang, in addition to health checks, they were provided with free meals and other necessities and medical supplies. They all had negative test results for the SARS-CoV-2 virus before their discharge.
Dong Nai Province accepted 335 Vietnamese citizens returning from Australia in the local isolation camps on September 5. A day earlier, Vietnamese citizens returned from Australia via Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. On September 5, they were sampled for COVID-19 with all showing no suspected symptoms.
Previously, on September 4, Dong Nai released 330 Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Australia on August 21 after finishing their 14-day quarantine at local isolation facilities.
