In Hanoi, numerous people flocked to the city’s centre to enjoy arts programmes held at public spaces, particularly around Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake.
Famous artists shared the stage at the Ly Thai To Garden Flower to delight audiences with songs and dances honouring the Party and the new spring, as well as popular songs about the youth.
At Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc square, Hanoians had an opportunity to enjoy revolutionary songs as well as melodies on the capital city.
Another show took place at August Revolution Square, featuring performances on the Vietnamese land and people.
Five big electric clocks were installed at the three locations, Thong Nhat Park and the Entertainment Complex on Luong Yet street, inviting people to count down the last moment entering the New Year.
Also on the occasion, the city’s authorities organised arts programmes at public spaces in 30 districts across the city to provide entertainment to residents.
In Ho Chi Minh City, 15-minute fireworks were set off at the Bitexco Tower and Dam Sen park.
Arts and cultural event were also set up at September 23 Park, Truong Sa street, and other major streets in the city.
A New Year welcoming party for the youth was held in Thua Thien-Hue province by the provincial Youth Union, attracting over 2,000 youth union members and students from universities and colleges and local people.
The programme included songs and dances on the country, Unclo Ho, spring, hope and the youth.
Also last evening, a live television programme linking Vi Thanh city and Nga Bay town in Hau Giang province took place. Under the theme ‘Hau Giang on a New Day’, the event featured songs, dances, reports and interviews on positive changes observed in the province since its establishment in 2004.
