Millions of people are expected to attend massive countdown parties and fireworks shows that will be held nationwide on New Year’s Eve.
Local authorities in cities and provinces have also planned a number of cultural activities and art performances to serve residents and tourists. In the central city of Danang, street art performances, including Hát tuồng (a form of classical Vietnamese opera), will be organized around the city. On January 2nd, a music festival called “Tiger Remix Concert 2016” on the bank of the Hàn River will stir up the city’s New Year atmosphere. Sport lovers can enjoy the first bicycle race of its kind on Dec 2nd and 3rd, whose course will pass through Bà Nà Mountain and Hải Vân mountain pass. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City has also made efforts to decorate its streets, particularly Nguyễn Huệ walking street, to welcome visitors. A series of art shows will also be staged in the city’s theaters from December 31st to January 3rd.
