In Thailand, the amount of scrap imports has doubled year on year, especially from the UK, reaching 5,000 tonnes. An article on the Science Advances magazine stated that Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia are considering the same ban as China to solve the waste crisis.
The Thai government has announced that they will prohibit importing scraps with a high level of impurities.
