Entitled ‘Reading books for the future’, the contest aims to honour the value and role of books in aiding children’s study and developing their social skills.
The event is open to children aged from 6 to 15 at schools, children’s houses and adolescents’ centres nationwide.
On the occasion, the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation also kicked off a children’s writing contest entitled ‘I Love My Motherland, Vietnam’.
The contest, the fifth of its kind, encourages young pioneers to compose poems and pieces of prose on their love and pride for their motherland as well as how they follow President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings.
