Compensation for fishermen

In June last year, Formosa pledged to pay 500 million dollars in compensation to people in the central provinces of Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thua Thien - Hue and Quang Tri. On August 22nd the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment announced their results on seawater quality and help increase sales of fish and seafood from the affected provinces.

Reports on the scale of damage were also collected and sent to authorities to process compensation claimed. From September last year until now, the first compensation phase has been completed, with Ha Tinh being the final in the list. It is expected the compensation process will finish by June this year.
