The event marks the victory over the Mongol invaders at the Battle of Bạch Đằng in 1288. The festival includes a procession along the Bạch Đằng River and traditional games such as wrestling, human chess playing and cock-fighting. The festival this year has attracted nearly 50 processions from different localities in the province and across the nation. It will last until March 5th.
