Attending the event were Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh and China’s Minister of Defence Senior Lieutenant General Chang Wanquan.
Vietnam’s Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh said the meeting was an important annual event. He welcomed closer ties between the two socialist countries and their mutual commitments to strengthen political trust and create new momentum to deepen the Sino-Vietnamese comprehensive strategic partnership and develop a border of peace, co-operation, development and stability. At the seminar, delegates from the two countries underlined their determination to see development in their respective border areas, and shared their experiences in border management and fight against criminal activity./.
