VTV.vn - Vietnam is striving to boost tourism, aiming to draw 8.5 million foreign visitors this year. Besides waiving visas to 22 countries, Vietnam has been actively participating in international tourism events to seek opportunities and partners.

The International Tourism Fair ITB Berlin is the biggest tourism fair in the world. And a record 79 Vietnamese travel agencies are present at the event this year. With nearly 200 countries and territories participating, the event was a precious opportunity to promote Vietnam’s tourism not only in Germany but also worldwide.

Vietnam’s attractions have been highlighted through videos shown at press conferences and events. While Vietnam’s delegation also held traditional art performances, to showcase the country’s rich culture.

As part of the framework for the 2016 national tourism promotion programme, Vietnamese firms also later held business to business meet-ups at the Czech-Vietnam Tourism Forum. In the context of international tourism industry gradually recovering, a proactive approach to key markets in Europe is especially important in realising the target of receiving 8.5 million visitors in 2016.
