According to the final results of the tenth review, some Vietnamese firms are subject to an antidumping duty five times higher than the official 0.91 percent set in the ninth review. Shortly after the announcement, many local seafood enterprises gave their reactions to the news.
The US Department of Commerce has implemented a 4.78% duty on shrimp consignments imported into the US from February 1st 2014 to January 31st 2015 for mandatory and voluntary respondents. As a respondent, head of the Vietnam Clean Seafood Corporation was surprised to hear the decision.
This growth rate is expected to fall in light of the recent decision by the US Department of Commerce. Truong Dinh Hoe, General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers said in an interview that Vietnam is preparing to take legal action against the US Department of Commerce for its latest antidumping duty administrative review on Vietnamese shrimp, because Vietnam is not dumping frozen shrimp.
