VTV.vn - The Central Highlands is facing its most severe drought since 1997. The freak weather has been blamed on the El Nino phenomenon, which affects regional temperatures.

This drought-stricken field in Ia Phang Commune, Chu Puh District is a common sight throughout the region. Severe drought has ravaged rice fields, and the rice now just fit to feed cattle. According to local authority statistics, about 350 hectares of rice fields have been destroyed.
