The rising numbers of overseas Vietnamese students and workers in Japan is also an agent connecting the two countries. There are 30,000 Vietnamese students in Japan, with 90,000 Vietnamese calling the country home. In recent years, Japan has become one of the top destinations for Vietnamese learners due to its excellent academic environment and unique culture.
Mr. Luong Duy Manh, Phd student in Japan said: "I see that the number of Vietnamese student to Japan is growing. This means that relations between Vietnam and Japan are developing. This is a good chance for those who want to immerse ourselves in Japanese culture and benefit from new technology".
The Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association was established in 1955 and the organisation has branches in 23 prefectures and has helped Vietnamese people living in the country.
"Exchanges between Vietnam and Japan are on the rise. I hope that the visit of the Vietnamese Communist Party leader this time will not only contribute to relations between the two nations but also to the peace and stability of the region" said Mr. Motoyoshi Ryoikichi, General Secretary, Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association.
Enhancing student exchanges is part of the policy to strengthen people-to-people ties between Vietnam and Japan. This also lays the foundation for developing relations between the two countries.
