This was the recommendation of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to VASEP, many products processed from animals or products containing "animal products" such as dry, canned foods, cooked, ready-to-eat, and frozen foods can be exempted from quarantine as current regulations are not in line with international practices.
VASEP recommends the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development exclude them in the list of products subject to quarantine, except for raw, fresh, and chilled products. According to Vasep, these processed products are only controlled in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law.
