This comment was made at the 3rd quarter press conference of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Specifically, in the last 9 months, the export turnover of agricultural products is estimated at over 30 billion USD, up 1.6% over the same period last year.
The six groups of commodities with an export value of over 2 billion USD are rice, coffee, cashew nuts, vegetables, shrimp, wood, and wood products.
After more than 2 months since the EVFTA took effect, many of Vietnam's agricultural products have seen good growth in the EU market such as rice, shrimp, coffee, fruits.
As for rice, in August, Vietnam exported 3,800 tons of rice to the EU, worth 2.4 million USD, up more than 17% in volume and 19% in value compared to July. Coffee exports in August increased by nearly 11% in volume and more than 13% in value compared to the previous month.
Thanks to this change, the value of agricultural exports to the EU has remained stable, estimated at more than $ 2.8 billion in the past 9 months, equivalent to the same period last year.
