Administration procedures simplified by single window

VTV.vn - As of August, after 3 months of National Single-Window implementation, over 11 thousand enterprises’ files were carried out through single window. Meanwhile, Vietnam has recently connected to the ASEAN Single- Window.

This Singaporean ship reaches sea port at 2 a.m with 700 containers. After 8 hours, nearly half of its products have been moved out. The speed is much faster thanks to the single-window mechanism.

Time spent loading and unloading is reduced by more than 1 day. This is thanks to simpler administration procedures. However, in order to fully make use of the mechanism, technical issues and cooperation between parties involved need to be considered.

The National single-window has been launched at 5 international sea ports in the provinces of Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Ba Ria Vung Tau, and the cities of Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh. The implementation has seen positive results. However, infrastructure systems at those ports have not techically connected to each other.

As of now, there have been 6 ministries connecting to the national single-window. Among them, administration procedures by the Ministry of Industry and Trade have not been posted on the national single-window portal. Therefore, enterprises cannot put those procedures online.

According to the Ministry of Finance and Vietnam General Customs, procedures of ministries which have connected to the single-window will be updated. Other ministries and agencies will receive support to connect to the mechanism in the near future.

The National and ASEAN single-window mechanisms are among solutions to simplify administration procedures, creating a more favourable environment for enterprises, and promoting trade with other countries. In addition, this is also a foundation for establishing the ASEAN Economic Community by the end of this year.
