Various kinds of books for all ages are on display at the book fair. Especially, visitors here can buy books at discount prices of up to 50%. Nearly 50 publishing houses from across the country will showcase around 20,000 of the latest publications in various genres, with 180 booths offering discounted prices for readers.
The 60 units participating in the book fair have found various ways to draw visitors to their books. Kim Dong Publishing house invited a famous Japanese writer to speak and give presents to the children.
At the event, the organising board also called for book donations to local libraries, schools, post offices, and cultural houses in poor communes in Hanoi, Ly Son Island district, and Truong Sa Island district. The fair, hosted by the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, aims to promote the habit of reading among citizens, particularly the youth.
