450 million USD has been earmarked for 2016-2017 to help Vietnam with the state budget deficit, and the figure could be increased with particular requests from the Vietnamese government. The prime minister noted that Vietnam values the effectiveness of ODA and preferential loans, including ADB funds. He also hoped the bank will continue aiding Mekong sub-regional co-operation in connecting transport infrastructure, alleviating poverty and fighting climate change.
