The event is an opportunity to connect Vietnamese film makers to international film makers and introduce Vietnamese culture to the world.
146 movies from 43 countries and territories have been chosen to participate in this year's event. This year, the participants are not restricted to coming from the Asia Pacific region. For example, the movie chosen for the opening ceremony of this year's event is Ken Loach's "I, Daniel Blake" - winner of the Cannes Festival, and "Son of Saul" the Oscar and Golden Globe winner of 2016 will also be shown.
“We are very happy to be here. More importantly, we would like to find collaboration opportunities with Vietnamese film makers”, Mariella Troccoli - General Directorship for the Cinema, Italian Ministry of Cultural Affairs – said.
This event is an opportunity for Vietnamese film makers to exchange knowledge and experience with other international film makers. This is also a chance for them to introduce Vietnamese culture to the world.
