At the event, more than 200 young locals and youth union members offered incense and lit candles at more than 640 martyrs' tombs to express gratitude for their services and contributions to the national independence and liberation.
On the same day, the Dien Bien provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organised an art programme entitled ‘The Heroic Song of Dien Bien’ in celebration of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
The programme attracted nearly 100 singers and performers, who brought to the stage songs and dances praising the world-shaking Dien Bien Phu victory and General Vo Nguyen Giap – commander of the Dien Bien Phu campaign, as well as the land and people of Dien Bien.
