At the closing ceremony, participants all agreed that Integrated Coastal Management is an effective mechanism to reduce pollution and protect sea bio-diversity. In order to implement the mechanism effectively, all countries need to call on the involvement of stakeholders, including the government, private sector, and especially, citizens.
An action guideline for citizens, a mechanism for fund management, integrated management in coastal, basin and mainland areas, and water resources were suggested for effective management. At the end of the ceremony, Cambodia was chosen to host the 6th East Asian Seas Congress in 2018.
