24 new COVID-19 cases detected in HCMC

VTV.vn - At noon on Monday, HCMC recorded 24 new COVID-19 cases in HCMC, bringing the total to 29 cases related to Tan Son Nhat Airport.

This is according to HCMC's Steering Committee for COVID-19 control and prevention. The representative of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in HCMC also announced that the 24 new cases were already under quarantine and are being treated.

Of these 24 cases, 6 are F1 contacts of patient 1929, and 3 are F1 contacts of patient 2003. Most notably, 15 other cases are F1 contacts of 20 cases previously sampled at the airport. According to the Ministry of Health, the outbreak in HCMC can be considered quite complicated since it has not been determined how many cycles of infection have been created due to the outbreak.

Furthermore, cases have been found in 6 districts in the city.

Meanwhile in Hanoi, 2 more COVID-19 cases were detected as of Monday afternoon, bringing the number of patients in Hanoi to 25. The first case was a 28-year-old woman, living in Nam Tu Liem District, friend of patient 1722. The other was a male patient coming back from Gia Lai on a business trip and was quarantined upon returning to Hanoi. He lives in Ba Dinh District./.
