A Vietnamese-made movie has been put up for sale at a film market as part of the ongoing 2015 Cannes Film Festival.

The festival opened on May 13 and will close this Sunday.

“Quyen,” also known as “Farewell to the Berlin Wall,” has been taken to the high-profile film festival, one of the world’s largest, its producer and distributor BHD announced.

One of the film’s posters is hung at the BHD office near the Cannes venue.

The local film company added the movie is expected to hit local screens on June 19.

Adapted from Vietnamese writer Nguyen Van Tho’s eponymous novel, “Quyen” was directed by Nguyen Phan Quang Binh and features both local and foreign actors including Gary Daniels from the U.K. and Tran Bao Son and Vu Ngoc Anh from Vietnam.

Shot over nine weeks, including two in Germany, “Quyen” has been mentioned by several noted film magazines, including The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, according to BHD.

It tells the story of Quyen, a woman from Hanoi, and her husband, who fled from Russia to Germany in search of their promised land.

During their decade-long adventure, the couple go through ups and downs and demonstrate their burning desire and iron will to survive in a foreign country.
