An urgent meeting was put together yesterday with the participation of related ministries and agencies in the bid to find solutions to the issue.
As reported by agricultural products associations, main exports include timber, seafood, rice, coffee, pepper and rubber, all experienced a sharp decrease. Among these, coffee export fell 37%, the highest rate of all, followed by rice, timber products and seafood with falls of 28%, 29% and 26% respectively.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat proposed a set of solutions including expanding export markets and simplifying administrative procedures in customs and export activities. Feedback from export enterprises will also be collected by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to submit to the government for review before April 15th.
