The 9th National Awards for Foreign Information were held on the evening of October 12, 2023, at the Hanoi Opera House and were broadcast live on VTV1 channel. The award ceremony was organized by the Central Propaganda Committee and the Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work in coordination with relevant ministries and agencies.
The Award Council selected the best 110 works/products to receive awards. Among them, there were eight first prizes, twenty-two Second prizes, thirty Third prizes, and fifty encouragement prizes.
In particular, Vietnam Television (VTV) excellently won one first prize, one second prize, and two encouragement prizes.

The 9th edition of the awards received 1.456 works/products, a 30% growth compared to the previous edition. The majority of the increasing works focused on innovation and information value in foreign relations, including print media, electronic media, foreign-language electronic information websites, television, photography, and video clips. The print media and electronic media categories, both in Vietnamese and foreign languages, remained the most participated sections in this year's awards.
The themes of this year's works and products comprehensively covered the significant political, foreign relations, and cultural events of the country, attracting domestic and international public interest. They included information about the Party's guidelines, state policies, and achievements in various fields such as politics, economics, foreign relations, human rights, the beauty of the country, its people, and the cultural values of Vietnam.
The presentations were diverse, unique, modern, and met the information consumption habits of different audiences, especially the younger generation. Many works and products showcased innovative and creative thinking in their methods and effectively applied new media channels.
