ABU Robocon 2024 features 13 outstanding teams

VTV.vn - This year’s ABU Robocon competition brings together thirteen exceptional teams to create an exciting and professional atmosphere.

On the afternoon of  August 20th, Vietnam Television (VTV) and Quang Ninh Province held a press conference to announce details of the ABU Robocon 2024 Finals, which will be held at Quang Ninh’s Provincial Sports Complex. VTV, which has long served as a key organizer and essential bridge to bring the Robocon competition closer to the public, has significantly contributed to the success and growth of this event with its extensive media experience.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh’s Department of Culture and Sports, stated: "As of now,   organization al efforts are well underway, and preparations are expected to be completed by August 23rd, ready for the contestants on August 25th. The live broadcast is scheduled to run for six continuous hours, and VTV has made thorough preparations. Well-known MCs such as Hong Phuc and Khanh Vi will moderate and provide commentary  of the program."

Mr. Nguyen Viet Phu, Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Division of  Vietnam Television, and a representative of the ABU Robocon 2024 Organizing Committee shared that VTV has been doing an excellent job in promoting the competition, bringing news and visuals of the event to a wide audience across the country. As a result, Robocon has become a familiar and well-loved playground for many young people. Many countries participating in the ABU Robocon Finals have significant  media coverage, so this event is expected to highlight the competition and effectively promote the image of Vietnam, especially the beautiful Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Phu, Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Division of the Scientific and Educational Program Department of Vietnam Television, provides information at the press conference on the afternoon of August 20th in Quang Ninh.

Over the years, VTV has also invested in building modern stages and equipment to support the matches, creating a professional and captivating competition environment. This not only provides the optimum conditions for the participating teams but also improves the competitiveness in the eyes of the audience. Through its broadcasts, VTV showcases the creative ideas and unique robots from the competing teams, inspiring a passion for science and technology among the youth.

Additionally, VTV has made it possible for young people, scientists, and experts in the field of robotics to connect and share experiences. This initiative has not only fostered the growth of the robotics community in Vietnam but also created a vast network of connections. The live broadcast of Robocon matches has helped boost Vietnam’s image to international friends and showcasethe country’s achievements in science and technology.

It can be said that VTV was instrumentalin making Robocon a prestigious and influential cultural and scientific event. Thanks to VTV’s support, Robocon continues to grow and strengthen its position in the region.

This year, the ABU Robocon 2024 competition will take place from August 23rd to August 27th at the Quang Ninh Sports Complex in Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City. Thirteen outstanding teams will compete, creating a vibrant and professional atmosphere. Vietnam will be represented by two teams from Hung Yen University of Technology and Education.
