VTV.vn - More than 200 young people took part in a tour of the county’s islands which began May 25th. The ten-day event is intended to give an insight to the young people about the lives of the soldiers serving on the country’s marine possessions.

All members in the programe have had a 10-day journey to experience daily life at sea, including visits toislands in the Spratly Archipelago, and marine platform DK1. The tour is intended to convey the challenges and harsh conditions soldiers have to face every day when on their tours of duty.

The participants are students, businessmen, artists, doctors and reporters. They will participate in many activities such sailing, offering incense to the dead, and experiencing the life at sea.

"I really admire the soldiers living here. Despite harsh conditions, they maintain good moral and continue to carry out their duties. I can feel their endurance", Pham Thanh Hung - Vice Chairman of Cen Group - said.

The soldiers, although living in the middle of the sea, are not alone. The short meeting between thesoldiers and visitors has strengthened the belief in the nation’s safety, with the soldiers who do their duty every day on the nation’s most far-flung islands.
