October 13rd marks the International Day for Disaster Reduction. Vietnam is one of 20 countries most likely to be most affected by climate change. This means Vietnam was a perfect country to select to launch of the World Disaster Report 2015. More to follow.
The Vietnam Red Cross and other international organisation hosted a meeting and coastal disaster drill in the central province of Thanh Hóa. The International Day for Disaster Reduction started in 1989 with the approval by the United Nations General Assembly. The day aims to celebrate how people and communities are reducing their exposure to disasters, while at the same time encouraging every citizen and government to take part in building more disaster resilient communities and nations.
